Transportation in London, NY& Paris

Lest talk of cities like New York, Paris & London.. lets make out the differences..
I would be biased if i propose London as the best bet for commute, to provide reason..I find London more comfortable to commute out of the two cities, reasons could be connectivity between different cities to & fro from London is awesom.. never had a ugly experience.. contigency was always well planned and executed..undoubtedly best service with regard to time & comfort.. I used to travel from London to Brighton daily.. door to door would be 2hrs atleast..but had a comfortable journey all the time..
Even we had the luxury of chosing differnt transport like public transport BUSES..
frequency and alternate arrangements were well informed in advance...Maps,tour guides..excellent, best part was the division of city segregated into zones..
and transportation was based on zone passes for day/week/monthly basis.. good concept i would say..tht eliminates the requirement of having separate bus passes as compulsion.. with a travel card, customer can avail bus and train (called as tube) services...hazzle free travel across zones.. with plenty of differnt services operating with joined hands..

Paris, on the other hand, did gave a similar feel except on late night services..
found difficult communicating... apart from tht it was excellent..

I was surprise to see New York only with transportation medium as Subways..
travelling to NY wasnt easy... to mention details.. i am staying in Journal square..
need to commute to Warren,NJ

left with no other option..i mean no better option than to have own a car/rent it/or car pool... other alternative is to catch a train (PATH-Rail service) to WTC and then catch company bus to Warren, sad part is company bus is available only once in a hour.. Within NewYork, commuters can choose to use SUBWAY..

After I studied New York History at SUBWAY , I learnt that the majority of the New York Subway system was completed between 1904 and 1918...awesom isnt it..

Travel from Thames to Hudson on a journey called life.

During my short visit to UK this time, i did went around thames in London,
i never miss a oppurtunity to wander around the Tower of London or LondonBridge..
Used to escort my friends to London Bridge, whoever visited London for the first time, i used to step in as a guide to the city tour and luxury tour circling around thames.. which is the life of london...

Hudson ..heart of New York i guess..wont be a exagerration at all..
Erection of Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan Bridge is on Hudson..
I am left with a desire to circle around Hudson.. i could see some tempting deals which allows visitors to have a bird view on Hudson from a chopper.
Will surely blog my visit in the coming week...as i have some plans..
Seems my lenses are getting impatient for the shots..an aerial view of Statue of Liberty.. more popularly known & comically coined terminology.. Mashaal wali bai..:)
Hey bloggy.. dont be impatient..am going to feed you with her snaps !!

Top ten attractions in New York

It may inspire many readers to make their own top 10 list about New York, or their own cities, i will pen down my top 10 attractions...

(1) Statue of Liberty – most touristy place for out-of-town tourists; a lot of New Yorkers have never visited.
(2) Time Square – crowded, not very far from the MS New York office; there is a place to buy half-priced ticket for Broadway shows for the same night.

(3) The Metropolitan Museum of Art – one of top art museums of the world; takes more than one day to finish; a stroll in the Central Park afterwards is highly recommended.

(4) Rockefeller Center – largest Christmas tree in the world (so claimed); NBC TV studio and store are there.

(5) Chinatown – very crowded, good Cantonese or Sichuan restaurants; next to Little Italy with good Italian food.

(6) The New York Stock Exchange – the center of Capitalism. Wall Street and Ground Zero are nearby too.

(7) The Empire State Building – tallest building after 9/11 with observation deck on top.

(8) Brooklyn Bridge – You can walk on the bridge and have a good view of the East River. The bridge was the tallest structure in the world when it was built late 19 century.

(9) Big Apple Bus Tour – a city-wide bus tour you can hop on and off at many points; good and quick way to see different parts of the city.

(10) Fifth Avenue – Christmas shopping (or just window shopping) for fashion; downtown West Broadway has more upscale fashion boutiques (places where you can shop for your wife but things can be a bit expensive that you will be secretly happy that she does not come along).

I think you should at least go to one good restaurant for Western cuisine and a French bakery for pastry. There are too many good choices to list.
